Affordable Fall Fashion Staples
Fall is just around the corner. Whether the end of summer brings a smile or frown to your face, there’s no denying the excitement of fall fashion! When it comes to all things style, fall just might be our absolute favorite season. You have transitional pieces, elegant layers, deep rich colors, sweaters, and fun textures like tweed and leather (just to name a few!). If you’re in search of a few affordable fall fashion staples that won’t break the bank, these 3 finds are as versatile as they are fall-friendly. Each makes a chic statement and will dial up your outfit so you’ll look polished and put together (with basically no effort at all!)
Speaking of fall fashion, have you had a chance to check out our Fall Capsule Wardrobe yet? It’s chock full of gorgeous pieces and you can find it here.
Our first affordable fall staple is this Wayf ribbed sweater which is perfect for fall and beyond. The wrap front is super flattering for most body types including women with a larger bust size. The v-neckline and tie at the waist help create a slimming effect. And, the slight blouson sleeves with the thick ribbed cuff are modern and on-trend. It does run large, so we recommend sizing down one size unless you prefer a roomy fit. Erin is wearing the mocha color, and it also comes in a really pretty oatmeal color, blush pink, and charcoal gray.
How To Wear It
You can wear this pretty sweater with jeans and booties like Erin styled it in the images above, or with a pair of cargo pants, flared leggings, trousers, or a skirt (leather, denim, slip skirt, etc.). Depending on what you decide to layer under this sweater… a tank, cami, lace bralette, or nothing, you could easily wear this for everyday lunch or errands, the office, OR date night. Very versatile, very affordable at $89, and very chic.
A black skirt would also look great paired with this wrap sweater. You’ll find 12 black skirt outfit ideas and some awesome skirts in this post!
Next, we have this gorgeous, lightweight faux leather crop blazer by Steve Madden. It’s really the perfect length. It’s not TOO short. You can see that the hem of the blazer hits a good few inches above the waistline of Erin’s high-waisted pants. It’s fully lined, double-breasted, and has notched lapels. And, it looks so much more expensive than its $89 price tag! Sometimes faux leather can be stiff, feel cheap or sticky, or even have a foul odor. Not this one! Erin’s wearing it in the bone color, and it also comes in black. Either would be lovely for fall.
How To Wear It
Erin styled the blazer with a pair of cool cargo joggers, a black cami, and some chic black slingbacks. You could also wear it with a simple t-shirt and jeans, white jeans or trousers for a neutral monochromatic look, or you can also layer it over a dress. It would look especially flattering over a dress with a cinched or tie waist.

Just like the sweater in #1, this wrap-front Free People bodysuit is super slimming on SO many body shapes. The v-neckline is also very flattering and elongating. The fabric is lightweight, doesn’t wrinkle, and is very silky on the skin. As you can see from the images above, Erin owns it in multiple colors (it comes in 11 different colors to be exact!) If bodysuits aren’t your thing or if you are very long-waisted but love the look, you can always tuck in the bottom pieces of the bodysuit instead of snapping them closed. Such a great wardrobe staple at only $68.
How To Wear It
You might remember this same bodysuit from this post where Erin shared some of her favorite summer fashion finds under $150. Styled with white jeans and raffia accessories, it definitely gives off summer vibes. But the beauty of this bodysuit is that it’s really perfect for all seasons, making it a great transitional piece for fall/winter. You can wear it alone with jeans, trousers or skirts…it has this sexy but classy feel. OR you can layer it under jackets and blazers. This is a piece that works for the office, dinner, or date night because it’s super versatile.
