President Biden is expected to land in Israel on Wednesday morning as Gaza City reels from a deadly strike on al-Ahli Hospital, which Palestinian authorities said killed hundreds of people Tuesday night. Palestinian officials blamed an Israeli airstrike. The Israel Defense Forces said that part of a “barrage of rockets” fired by the Islamic Jihad militant group erroneously hit the area. Neither claim could be immediately verified by The Washington Post. Thousands took to the streets in protest and to publicly mourn after the explosion, including in Lebanon, Iran and Turkey.
